  • The eleventh edition of the Control Centres Conference, organised by Enagás GTS, took place on 3 October and focused on geo-strategy and simulations in control centres

María Junco, General Manager of Enagás GTS, inaugurated the conference and highlighted the importance of having a robust risk management strategy in companies. "It is vitally important to involve everyone in our organisations by fostering collective intelligence," she stated. She added that a culture of security strengthens the organisation's responsiveness and resilience.

Mar Cuenca, Health and Safety Manager at Enagás, also spoke about resilience in organisations. Likewise, José Alfredo Martín, Enagás Property Security Technician, explained the crucial role of control centres in operational security.

Rolando Silva, Enagás GTS Operations Manager, moderated a round table focused on geostrategy and drills at regasification plants, with representatives from BBG, Saggas and Reganosa terminals, in which Lucía Ochera, Head of the Prevention Unit at the Enagás Barcelona Plant, also took part.

The event was attended by Exolum, REE and Trinity Energy Storage; the natural gas distribution companies: Nedgia, Redexis, Gas de Extremadura, Madrileña Red de Gas and Nortegás; the operators of the adjacent international connections: Medgaz, REN and Terega; and for the first time OMCo (Onhym), the Moroccan operator. Participation was also extended to sectors beyond the energy sector, as was the case with Canal de Isabel II.

José María Blanco, an expert in geostrategy, offered his perspective on the evolution of this field in recent years, the new emerging risks and their impact on business sectors and environments.

At the closing ceremony, Eduardo García, Director of Operations at Enagás GTS, highlighted the value of this conference, which serves as an ideal meeting point for sharing best practices and maintaining good coordination in the event of unforeseen situations. "Promoting a culture of security helps to be prepared for today's ever-changing context," he said.
