Enagás' Chief Financial Officer, Luis Romero, took part in the 1st Conference on the Internal Control over Financial Reporting System (SCIIF): "Vision for the Future" held on Wednesday 2 October in Madrid together with representatives of ADIF, Redeia and Canal de Isabel II and attended by more than 125 professionals. These conferences, organised by the ICFR Collaborative Space of which Enagás is a member, aim to share best practices and analyse future challenges in a key area for providing security and reliability to the financial information published in the markets and made available to stakeholders.

During his speech, the Enagás CFO stressed the need to support the internal control systems of financial information in the transformation and digitisation of business processes to achieve greater automation of the models.

Luis Romero took part in a round table discussion with the General Financial and Management Control Director of ADIF, Manuel Fresno; the Corporate Economic-Financial Director of Redeia, Emilio Cerezo, and the Financial and Business Development Director of Canal de Isabel II, Jorge Castejón. The CFOs have stressed that transparency and rigour in financial reporting is essential for the proper functioning of organisations.

Enagás, ADIF, Redeia, Canal de Isabel II and Renfe all form part of the SCIIF Collaborative Space, a collaborative group of critical infrastructure companies that holds regular sessions to share knowledge and experience and thus guarantee the reliability of financial information. Enagás was one of the first Spanish publicly listed companies to implement ICFR in 2008 on a voluntary basis, with the aim of adapting its financial reporting control systems to international best practices.
