Enagás to invest over €860Mn in Castilla-La Mancha over the next five years
The President of the Autonomous Community of Castilla-La Mancha today met with the Chairman of Enagás, Antonio Llardén. At the meeting Mr. Llardén updated Mr. Barreda on the infrastructures Enagás is planning to build in the region in the coming years. Enagás will invest over €860Mn in 2007-2012.
One of the most important projects is the Yela underground storage terminal in Guadalajara. Given its strategic position in the centre of the country and its proximity to Madrid, this facility, which can store an operating volume of 1.05 bcm of natural gas, is key to guaranteeing the security of supply and flexibility of the Spanish Gas System.
Enagás will build a total of 503 km of gas pipelines in the region, the most important of which are the 236 km-long transverse axis (Alcázar de San Juan-Montesa), which will link the Mediterranean and Central Systems and the 70 km-long Almería-Chinchilla line which will connect the Medgaz pipeline to the Spanish Gas System. Enagás has also been awarded the construction of the 58 km-long gas pipeline which will link the Yela underground storage centre with the Algete compression station in Madrid as well as two compression stations in Alcázar de San Juan (Ciudad Real) and Chinchilla (Albacete).
This meeting with the President of the Autonomous Community of Castilla-La Mancha is part of a series of visits which Antonio Llardén is making to those regions where Enagás is present or plans to develop highly important infrastructures.
