Enagás is included in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index World (DJSI), the world’s leading sustainability index, for the sixteenth consecutive year. This is according to the results published by S&P Global, which refer to the last assessment on 24 November.
Enagás achieved one of the highest scores in its sector with 85 out of 100 points, making it one of the most sustainable companies among the Gas Utilities. Enagás achieved the highest possible score (100 points) in the areas of Environmental Policy and Management Systems, Waste Management and Innovation Management. Enagás is also a leader in its sector in the areas of Biodiversity, Materiality, Business Ethics, Cybersecurity and Stakeholder Management, among others.
These results are recognition of the company’s commitment to decarbonisation, a key element of the Sustainability Roadmap of the company’s 2022-2030 Strategic Plan. The setting of ambitious emission reduction targets, as well as the commitment to the development of green hydrogen and other renewable gases, are key elements in its strategy to become carbon neutral.
In addition, in the Social and Corporate Governance areas, the company continues to promote its people-centred Transformation Plan, which aims to strengthen internal talent, develop skills, promote new values and inclusive work ecosystems.

S&P Global has evaluated 3,000 companies eligible for inclusion in the DJSI or other S&P ESG indices. These companies include the most relevant companies in the Gas Utilities sector in terms of their performance in sustainability. Following a rigorous analysis process by S&P, only the most sustainable companies are included in the index.

This recognition reinforces Enagás’ leadership in sustainability. The company has the highest ESG rating in its sector in the FTSE4Good index and is world leader in its sector on Bloomberg’s Gender Equality Index.
As a leading company in the field of people management, Enagás is certified as a Top Employer company. Recently, the company received the renewed Equality Badge from the Ministry of Equality. Also, the company has achieved the highest level of excellence, A+, in its certification as a Family Responsible Company (EFR).
