The first auction for underground storage capacity for natural gas was held yesterday, in accordance with Order ITC 3862/2007 of 28 December.
Enagás, as Technical System Operator, asked OMEL to carry out the auction, which was overseen by the National Energy Commission.
The capacity auctioned totalled 1,518 GWh for the period 1 April 2008 to 31 March 2009. Capacity was auctioned at a price of €2,588/GWh. The auction began at 9:30 am and ended at 5:30 pm, after 24 rounds.
