Sedigas held the 51st edition of its Annual Meeting on May 8th at the Palacio de Linares (Madrid), under the theme: “Renewable gases: sustainable energy for competitiveness and energy sovereignty.” This event served as a platform for the exchange of ideas, strategies, and experiences aimed at reflecting on the policies needed to advance an effective and ambitious energy transition, with the goal of achieving climate neutrality by 2050.
The meeting was inaugurated by the President of Sedigas, Joan Batalla, and the Director-General for Energy at the European Commission, Cristina Lobillo.
Enagás CEO, Arturo Gonzalo, delivered a presentation titled: “A roadmap for the deployment of renewable gases in Spain” (10:15 AM).
Additionally, Enagás' Director General of Engineering, Technology, and Digitalization, Susana de Pablo, participated in the roundtable discussion “Renewable Gases: Renewable hydrogen, biomethane, and other low-carbon gases. Challenges and opportunities”, alongside Cristina Rivero, Director of the Industry, Energy, Environment, and Climate Department at CEOE; and Ana Alcalde, Energy Analyst at the International Energy Agency (IEA). The session was moderated by Naiara Ortiz de Mendíbil, Secretary General of Sedigas (12:35 PM).
The event concluded with remarks from Rocío Prieto, Director of Energy at CNMC, and Joan Batalla, President of Sedigas.
