Enagás, leading company of the Utilities sector, on the Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index

  • The company obtained an overall score above the average for its sector and the highest score, 100 points, in reporting and transparency.
  • This acknowledgement rewards the efforts Enagás has been making over the years in terms of diversity and equal opportunities for its employees.

Enagás has been included on Bloomberg's 2021 Gender-Equality Index (GEI). This list distinguishes the 418 companies that are most committed to transparency in reporting on gender-related issues and to promoting equality.

Enagás has been recognised as leader of the Utilities industry, obtaining an overall score of 84 out of 100 points, above average for companies in the sector and also above average for the total number of companies included in the Index (71 points in both cases). The company also obtained 100 points in reporting and transparency.

Exceptionally, there has also been an assessment of how companies have adapted to the challenges of the COVID-19 health crisis. Enagás obtained the highest score in all the associated questions, showcasing the efforts made by the company to enhance flexibility and support for professionals during this stage.

The list includes companies from 11 sectors with head offices in five countries and regions. The inclusion of Enagás in this ranking acknowledges the company’s efforts in recent years in terms of diversity and encouraging equal opportunities among its employees. In this regard, Enagás promotes different initiatives in the areas of training and skills development, through coaching, mentoring or networking activities. This allows us to promote female talent and increase the participation of women in positions of responsibility, with the cross-cutting support for all professionals of more than 120 measures of reconciliation and co-responsibility of personal and professional life, including the introduction of the teleworking model.

Enagás is a Family-Responsible Company (FRC) since 2007 and has held the Equality in Business Seal from the Spanish Ministry of Equality since 2010. In 2014, the company signed a collaboration agreement with this government department for the adoption of measures to enhance the presence of women in management positions.
