· Enagás will invest more than €66Mn from now until 2012.

The President of the government of Navarre, Miguel Sanz, met with the Chairman of Enagás, Antonio Llardén in Pamplona today.

During their meeting, Antonio Llardén highlighted that Enagás has 315km of gas pipeline in Navarre and a dispatch centre in Beriain.

The Chairman of Enagás confirmed that the Company will invest €66.4Mn in the region up until 2012, the bulk of which is earmarked for the construction of a compression station in Lumbier, with two turbine compressors and 36 MW total power.  This facility, which will become operational in the first half of 2009, will increase the volume of the gas pipeline interconnection with France via Larrau by 20% to 3.1 bcm.

The Company also plans to build the Yela-Villar de Arnedo gas pipeline, 10 kilometres of which will pass through Navarre.  Furthermore, Enagás has asked for the project to duplicate the Castellnou-Villar de Arnedo pipeline, 37km of which will pass through Navarre, to be included in the new Obligatory Planning guidelines, which are expected to be approved before the end of 2007.

This infrastructure will connect Navarre with the underground natural gas storage facility in Yela (Guadalajara) and with the Ebro axis, thereby increasing natural gas supply security and reliability in the region.

This meeting with the President of the government of Navarre forms part of a series of visits which Antonio Llardén is making to those regions where Enagás is present or plans to develop significant infrastructure.
