Enagás is one of the nine Spanish companies that have helped Spain achieve third place among the world’s leading economies in terms of the number of female directors and executives in energy companies.
According to the Global Summit of Women report, our country ranks third among the world’s leading economies in terms of the number of female directors and managers in energy companies.
Spain boasts 39% female managers and 20.2% female executives, as stated in the report presented at the Spanish Stock Exchange to mark the beginning of this year’s Global Summit of Women.
This event, held from May 8 to 10 in Madrid, brought together a broad representation of senior management and government officials from more than 60 economies.
Enagás has recently been included among the 100 best companies in the world in terms of gender equality for the third consecutive year, ranking second in Spain and 13th globally, according to the Gender Equality Report & Ranking prepared by Equileap.
The company is also a world leader in the Utilities sector on the Bloomberg Gender Equality Index. Enagás has achieved a 40% representation of women on its Executive Committee, in line with the objectives of the new Spanish Parity Law, which makes it one of the most gender-balanced leadership teams within the entire Ibex 35. Enagás also has six women on its Board of Directors, representing more than 40%.
Enagás aims to continue increasing the proportion of women, especially in infrastructure operation positions. The company has an Equality Plan that sets out a framework to promote effective equality, equity, merit, personal progress, shared responsibility, and work-life balance for all professionals. It has also received the Equality in Business award granted by the Ministry for Equality.
Furthermore, Enagás has a Comprehensive Management Plan that includes more than 120 specific measures and actions to help reconcile the work and personal lives of its professionals. These include teleworking, a family assistance program, a personalised flexible remuneration plan, and flexible working hours. This commitment has led Enagás to become the first company in the energy sector to obtain the rating of Excellent Company + in the Family-Responsible Company (EFR) award granted by the Más Familia Foundation.
