Enagás obtains the highest ESG rating in its sector in the FTSE4Good sustainability index

Enagás has been continuously included in the FTSE4Good Index Series sustainability index for 15 years and has obtained the highest ESG rating in its sector worldwide. The company has been in this ranking since 2006 thanks to its environmental, social and governance (ESG) practices.

Enagás has obtained the highest score in the FTSE ESG Rating, making it the world leader in ESG in this ranking within its sector, Oil & Gas.

In this year's review, FTSE4Good has analysed more than 7,200 companies from all over the world, including the most sustainable companies according to economic, environmental and social criteria.

Enagás is firmly committed to decarbonisation and has set itself the goal of becoming carbon neutral by 2040. It has a plan of more than 50 energy efficiency projects that have enabled it to reduce its carbon footprint by 63% since 2014. In addition, together with 60 partners, it promotes 55 specific projects for the promotion of renewable gases, such as green hydrogen and biomethane, throughout Spain.

Enagás is among the world's leading companies in climate action and year after year it sits atop sustainability indices and rankings. In addition to being on the FTSE4Good Index Series, it is included in the CPD Climate Change “A List”, it is one of the companies whose climate commitments are spelled out in the European Climate Pact initiative, which forms part of the European Green Deal, and the Financial Times has included it in its list of European Climate Leaders.
