The Jovellanos Integral Maritime Safety Centre and Enagás sign an agreement for the creation of the International Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) School

Jovellanos Centre of the Spanish Maritime Safety Agency and Enagás have formalised an agreement for the creation of the International LNG School, which will offer a wide range of training courses for professionals in the industry.

The Director General of the Spanish Merchant Navy and chairman of the Marine Safety Agency, Rafael Rodríguez Valero, and the Chief Executive Officer of Enagás, Marcelino Oreja, signed the agreement in the Jovellanos Integral Maritime Safety Centre in Gijón, in whose installations the courses of the future international school outlined in the agreement will be held. The facilities of the El Musel regasification plant will be the other setting where training will be given.

This agreement, the result of a collaboration between the Maritime Safety Agency and Enagás within the CORE LNGas hive project, which is co-financed by the European Union, whose main objective is to jointly structure a training programme to cover all aspects of LNG. This programme is directed towards professionals in the industry, both from Spain and abroad.

LNG is one of the most environmentally friendly fuels, which is why its use is being promoted for marine transport and in ports throughout Spain and Europe.
