The President of the Generalitat of Catalunya, José Montilla, has met today with the Chairman of Enagás, Antonio Llardén. The Enagás investment plan for Catalonia over the next five years amounts to more than 525 million euros.

The President of the Generalitat of Catalunya (regional government of Catalonia), José Montilla, has welcomed the Chairman of Enagás, Antonio Llardén, to Barcelona today. Over the course of the meeting, the Chairman of Enagás highlighted the importance of the infrastructures that are to be constructed throughout Catalonia over the upcoming years. According to the company's Strategic Plan, Enagás intends to inject 525 million euros into the autonomous community over the period spanning 2007-2012.

Among the most important infrastructures, it stands out the amplification of Barcelona Plant and the construction of new gas pipelines, thereby making the gas system more flexible and ensuring that gas is supplied during peak periods.

The meeting between the Chairman of Enagás and the President of the Generalitat is set against the backdrop of numerous institutional visits that Antonio Llardén is making throughout autonomous communities in which Enagás already operates or intends to carry out major infrastructural work.
