Interruptibility at International Connections
On 30 July 2010, the Directorate General of Energy Policy and Mines issued a new ruling stating that, from November 1st 2010 on, carriers must make unused contracted and backhaul capacity available to international connections on an interruptible basis, once the maximum contracting/available capacity is used up.
An operating procedure has been drawn up by the International Connection Installations owners, establishing the offer criteria, publication, capacity reservation request, assignation, contracting and programmation of unused and backhaul capacities available to international entry/exit connections, as well as the interruption of those services.
The Conditions Agreement for Contracting Interruptible Capacity at International Connections is required and must be signed before the capacity request is sent.
Additionally, the corresponding contracts will be signed, and they will only contain information about the contract capacity and operation conditions.
